Verizon Offers $650 To Unhappy Network Switchers

Ever since T-Mobile started volleying shots towards AT&T and Verizon, the cellular game has changed. We should all be thanking T-Mobile for starting this war, because the only real winner in this battle is the consumer. The billion dollar profits of Verizon and AT&T haven’t been sending shivers down investers backs and T-Mobile’s growth has done nothing but make them a more valuable asset should Deutch Telekom ever decide to sell the US division of T-Mobile. About the only carrier not reaping the benefits of this battle is Sprint, but mark our words, the network quality is getting better and better with them and after the WiMAX shutdown is able to be completed, the coverage should be better as well.

That leads us to the newest shot across the bow from Verizon users of other networks. Come to us and we will pay off your phone or your ETF (should you still somehow have one) when you trade in your device. It’s the same deal that Sprint and T-Mobile have been running for quite some time now, but to have the gorilla in the room actually jump on the bandwagon, frankly, it’s a bit scary.

Verizon already had one of the best switch sales in the history of human kind over the holidays when they basically gave away devices like the Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG V10. With this deal, it will help attract those users that are on another network and got sucked into making payments on that ‘free’ device they purchased when switching over. All in all, it seems to be the perfect time to move back to Verizon if you want to get back to their network.

As far as device pricing goes, most smartphones are $100 off right now, which will save users about $4 a month on their payment plans, if they choose to finance the devices. It’s a far cry from the $100 discount with $300 trade in allowance that was around for the holidays, but to be able to shed that Sprint iPhone for free and move back to the Verizon network, it might be worth it.

Plans are equally easy to figure out now. The starter plan for a smartphone is $20 per line. This includes unlimtied talk and text. For $30 you then add 1GB of shared data. For $45 you get 3GB, $60 goes to 6GB, $80 for 12GB and $100 for 18GB. Larger plans are available, visit Verizon to see additional options and pricing. This puts a family of 4 at about $170 for the 6GB shared plan after estimated taxes and fees. This is not as strong of offering as T-Mobile and Sprint have right now, but if you are stuck on the wront network, getting those devices paid off completely might be the best way out.
