Selling Solavei To A Family Got Tougher

Last week, T-Mobile announced a change to their business as usual cell plans. While I’m always in favor of something that benefits consumers, selling Solavei just got tougher. What happened to T-Mobile is basically, they became Solavei… They are offering comparable plans, effective pricing structures and better support. I say better support because they will still have retail stores and kiosks to go in for help when you need it.

That said, is better support the only advantage to T-Mobile’s new Simple Choice plans? Let’s take a look at the breakdown and see. With Solavei, currently a family of 5 can get unlimited Talk, Text and Data for $215 plus taxes. This is done by setting up the primary as a single user, then placing the trio of family members under the second user. This gives $10 to the first person and $20 to the second person. $49 x 5 lines is $245 plus taxes – $30 in trio pay = $215 plus taxes. For this, the family gets that magical 4GB of 4G data that nobody else is offering in that price range. Game, set, match…

Or at least it used to be that way. Now, families can sign up for T-Mobile’s Simple Choice Plan and pay as little as $110 plus taxes. That $110 a month gets the family 5 lines of unlimited Talk, Text and Data, but only 500MB of 4G data per line. For kids this is a great thing as you can monitor what they do much more carefully. For adults, for an extra $20 a line, you can upgrade to unlimited 4G data. This would bring the bill to $150 a month for mom and dad to have unlimited 4G data and the kids to settle in with 500MB. Bumping the bill $30 a month, or $10 a line, gets the kids upgraded to 2.5GB of 4G data and puts the total cost at $180 plus taxes.

Looking at the bottom line, it is hard not to recommend that a family go with the $110 Simple Choice plan. For the majority of users, and those around WiFi often, 500MB of 4G data is plenty. After speaking with a T-Mobile rep, they expect the other carriers to follow suit very soon by offering lower cost plans to those that purchase their phones at full retail pricing. I suspect that this will not be the case since the Simple Choice plans are nothing more than a repackaged “Value Plan” that T-Mobile has been offering forever.

Will all of that in the queue, how do you sell Solavei against T-Mobile? Start with the obvious, the $50 comparison…

4GB of data vs. 500MB of data… It’s easier to sell 8 times the amount of data than it is to sell a small price drop.

Customized network settings so you won’t be bogged down with all the new T-Mobile users coming over to use those value plans.

An amazing earning potential. You can still earn $20 per trio and $10 per second level trio every month. Just 2 level one trios and a level 2 trio and you pocket $50 a month.

And of course, focus on the great people that Solavei helps financially instead of dumping your cash into an advertising machine. As a matter of fact, don’t hesitate in reminding them that you are one of those people and they could be too.

Yes, the challenges of selling Solavei on value alone became much more difficult with these new slashed prices, but Solavei still offers an amazing value. What Solavei offers that nobody else does is that monthly income. There’s no other plan that will actually pay you cash to recommend service. Sure, others are offering bill credits for referrals, or maybe a $10 bonus here or there, but none offer a monthly income based off how many members you bring in. That’s the game changer and why people should consider Solavei, not just the savings anymore.
