We’ve all seen the graphic above pasted on websites. Sure, graphics like this make Solavei loo so much cheaper than service from the big four, but how does one sell Solavei against a ‘better value’ program like Net10 or Straight Talk? Let’s take a quick look at the numbers and see how Solavei stacks up against a few of the most popular MVNO carriers
Straight Talk | Net10 | Simple Mobile | Red Pocket Mobile | Solavei | |
Phone | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Text | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Data | 2GB | 1.5GB | 1GB (Un 2G) | 2GB | 4GB (Un 2G) |
Price | $50 w/tax | $55 w/tax | $55 w/tax | $60 w/tax | $59 w/tax |
Pays You | $0 | $0 | $0 | $0 | $$$ |
Now, when you look at the dollar per dollar value, Solavei isn’t quite the deal that it looks to be against the big four. The 24 month totals certainly levels the playing field quickly. Now the previous totals are the actual billing totals for the Seattle, Washington area. With a 20% cellular tax and a 10% sales tax. Most prepaid or MVNO carriers allow users to purchase a refill card which is only charged sales tax, so any additional fees and taxes are lumped into the total. Solavei, however, is not a prepaid carrier, so it is subject to the full 20% cellular taxes instead of sales tax.
When looking at the numbers, all the MVNO carriers strike a blow at their higher priced counterparts. Of course, when you look at the numbers, Solavei is the only service that actually offers more than 2GB of data and is the only MVNO that lets you use your data how you want to. While not officially supporting activities like tethering, Solavei allows users to download apps or use native tethering in their devices.
