For those that are all marketing that $49 amazing deal that Solavei offers, you might want to rethink that marketing website name right now. Yes, the base price for Solavei is $49. Unfortunately, almost no one is seeing a bill for that amount each month. As a matter of fact, in Solavei’s own home state, the rates are much closer to $60 than $50. Sure, the $49 fee is the plan’s cost, but when you add the necessary taxes and fees to it, Washington state residents are paying over $10 more for that plan.
This isn’t as important as it seems to all, but when you add 20% to the total that people are expecting to pay on their bill, they are getting a bit upset. As a sales pitch, we pitch Solavei as a money saver and a money maker. When the bill shows up and that $49 has turned in to $54, $57 or $59, programs like Simple Mobile and Straight Talk seem to be much more attractive as their fees and taxes are rolled into the service price.
To get around this, check the pricing for your area, and for your customer’s area before they get that first bill and let them know how much they will be looking at. Turbo Tax and Intuit provide a great chart showing the average rates that many states charge. Take a look at the chart and let you customers know up front that they can expect anywhere from 5-20% extra added to their bill. These fees are usually e911 fees, taxes and other surcharges that are not included in the $49 fee. If they know this up front, it not only helps them calculate their savings a bit closer, but also will ease the sticker shock of the first bill.
Remember, building your downline isn’t just about getting new subscribers, but it is equally important to keep the ones you worked so hard to recruit.
