Solavei Gets Desperate: Free SIM and First Month

When a public launch fails, there isn't much a company can do about it. Unfortunately for Solavei, the numbers do not look good and they are going the desperate route to increase them. The problem with this system is that the funds that are "guaranteed" cash for the system is no longer coming into play.

Solavei's corporate structure had to depend on the fact that people were going to pay $80 upfront for a SIM card and the Enrollment Fee. When that $80 goes away, it means that they are now losing money on that account from day one. That means a tougher time ahead for the upstart social network, and long term affects that may not be felt for quite some time.

The bottom line for Solavei and its future is that the competition is stiffening and with offers from Net10, Straight Talk and other prepaid carriers undercutting their $49 price tag, its going to take more than a fire sale to get people onboard.

That said, good sales techniques will win some users over to their $49 and with the reduced startup cost this is a great time to pounce.
